Srinagar, October 1: The government said on Friday it would credit the flat fee to the bank accounts of eligible students in grades I through VIII under the Right to Education Act (RtE).
The government principal secretary for the school education department (SED), BK Singh, said: âA sanction is given to the transfer of funds due to uniform fees on the bank account of the students or parents with Rs 600 per eligible student through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for the 2020-21 fiscal year as directed by Samagra Shiksha.
Declaring student eligibility, the government said: “All girls, class castes (SC), class tribes (ST) and boys below the poverty level (BPL) of grades I-VIII y are eligible “.
Earlier in August, the government said that in order to ensure the consistency and quality of uniforms to be purchased by parents for their eligible children, all girls, Schedule Caste (SC) students, Schedule Tribe (ST) and below Poverty Level Boys (BPL) Class I-VIII are eligible to enjoy the benefits.
Singh said: “The director of school education for Jammu and Kashmir regions must ensure that funds for uniform fees are transferred immediately while directors of education (CEOs), Zone Education Officers (ZEO) and Head of Institutions (HoI) will monitor the activity and ensure that established standards are met.
