Nigeria: First Bank unveils fully automated self-service branch
First Bank of Nigeria Limited, announced the launch of its fully automated branch, called FirstBank Digital Experience Center.
In a statement, the bank said the center was intended to give customers an edge by performing various activities on their own without interacting with anyone.
âThe branch is a reinvention of digital banking solutions in the country, as customers are exposed to a seamless world-class banking experience. The self-service branch is built with a wide range of progressive modern banking facilities that include robots humanoids equipped with Video Banking and artificial intelligence (AI), assuming the role of friendly branch staff; ATMs (TCR); Self-service kiosks for non-financial transactions such as updating the account; Fast Track ATM (contactless); Interactive smart screen to ensure efficiency and full consultation with the bank’s sales staff via remote video connection.
âOther services include paperless / electronic forms designed to promote rapid resolution of complaints, distribution of account statements and account viewing / management, fund transfer, distribution of new ATM cards; fixed deposit reservation between N 100,000.00 and N 5,000,000.00, card and management services, check management, email and phone number update, ATM card and token block, among others, âhe added.

âThe FirstBank Digital Experience Center is operated by the Bank’s refurbished Adetokunbo Ademola branch on Victoria Island. The landmark initiative is expected to reach other locations in geopolitical areas of the country in the coming months.
