Illinois Leaks | John Norton does not admit any bank account in Switzerland – Judge points out perjury
Will Co, (ECWd) –
The local gadfly and former Wesley Township Highways Commissioner was honored with a suspended prison sentence for two more weeks at yesterday’s hearing. As we covered in This article, Norton was ordered to produce certain tapes before 1:30 p.m. yesterday. Although he produced some documents, he did not produce all of those ordered and was subsequently caught in what appears to be perjury over a claimed Swiss bank account.
At the last hearing, Norton confirmed that he had a bank account in Switzerland. (See pages 40-44)
THE COURTYARDT: Do you have other accounts in your name?
SIR. NORTON: Not in the jurisdiction of the United States, no.
THE TRIBUNAL: OK. It wasn’t my question. Do you have other bank accounts in your name?
SIR. NORTON: Yes.
THE TRIBUNAL: OK. With which entities are these accounts, how many and with which entities are these accounts?
SIR. NORTON: I can’t pronounce the name of the bank.
THE TRIBUNAL: It’s good. You can tell me anyway.
SIR. NORTON: It’s a Swiss bank account.
At yesterday’s hearing, Norton failed to produce the Swiss bank statements as ordered and when questioned by the judge, he admitted that he did not have a bank account in Switzerland. The judge didn’t appreciate what appears to be Norton’s perjury. We will release the transcript once we have it, but to summarize the event, the judge informed attorney Hanlon that he may want to file the appropriate motion regarding what appeared to be Norton’s perjury at the last hearing. .
Norton attempted to imply that he never said he actually had a bank account in Switzerland, but reading his exact words as recorded by the court indicates that his refusal to say he did had no bank account in Switzerland is another lie.
Norton failed to produce certain insurance records as well as the most recent vehicle registration and other banking records as requested. The judge ordered that his prison term be suspended until August 16, 2021 at 1:30 p.m., when he must produce certain records as ordered. The judge said Norton might want to bring a toothbrush to the next hearing. From the expression on his face, I âthinkâ he knows the judge will no longer tolerate his lies and misinformation.
Once we get the transcript of yesterday’s hearing, we’ll publish it. We urge everyone to read it to see for themselves the level of evasion and lies Norton will go to in order to delay the inevitable, by paying our lawyer bill for the frivolous lawsuit he filed. At some point, reality will sink in and he will realize that he should get rid of his shovel as all he does is deepen his legal obligation to invoice at each hearing.
