Berks County churches schedule Easter worship services [Religion Digest] – Reading Eagle

• Christ Episcopal Church, 435 Court Street, Reading, will hold an Easter Vigil service today at 5.30pm. On Easter Sunday there will be a worship service with special music at 10am . Masks are optional. Parking is available at the Abe Lincoln Hotel car park and the M&T Bank car park, both located next to Washington St. There is also parking available next to the church on Court Street for people with disabilities or who have Need help. On Thursday at 11 a.m., a morning prayer service will be held at the Red Bridge Recreation Area, 2141 Tulpehocken Road, Canton of Bern, weather permitting.

• The Reformation Lutheran Church, 3670 Perkiomen Avenue, Exeter Township, will hold in-person worship services on Easter Sunday at 8.30am and 10.30am with brass, timpani and the Reformation choir. Masks are optional. The 10:30 a.m. service will be streamed live on Reformation’s Facebook page and can be viewed live or later on www.Reformationlutheran.org under worship videos. Easter breakfast will be served from 9am to 10.30am. in the parish hall. An egg hunt will take place on the lawn starting at 9:30 a.m.

• St. Michael’s Church, 529 St. Michael’s Road, Tilden Township, will hold Easter worship on Sunday at 10:15 am, with Holy Communion. Children will receive a surprise gift upon arrival. Tom Vollmer will play steel guitar at 9 a.m.

• Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Barto, will hold an Easter sunrise service at 6:30 am, with Holy Communion. There will be a coffee hour in the Welcome Center after the service. There will be another service at 9 a.m., with Holy Communion.

• St. John’s Reformed Church, 4001 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, will hold two services on Easter Sunday, at 9 am (traditional) and 11 am (contemporary).

• Schwarzwald United Church of Christ, 75 Church Lane Road, Exeter Township, will celebrate Easter in person and on Zoom on Sunday at 10.30am. It will also be available on YouTube. For more information, visit www.schwarzwalduc-pa.org.

• Zion Lutheran Church, 354 Zions Church Road, Perry Township, will hold an Easter Dawn service at 6:30 a.m. with a second service at 10:30 a.m. Both services will include Holy Communion and will be held in nobody. The 10:30 a.m. service will also be available on Facebook live and on the church’s website, zionslutheran.org. Sunday school for all ages will be at 9:15 a.m. The Easter breakfast will be held in the common room from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.

• Trinity Lutheran Church, 121 S. Home Ave., Topton, celebrate Easter with in-person worship and Holy Communion at 9 a.m., or anytime online via YouTube or Facebook. Masks are optional. Seats are available for those who still wish to wear masks, not sing and remain socially distant. There will be no Sunday school at Easter.

• Grace Lutheran Church, 30 Liberty St., Shillington, will hold an Easter dawn service at 6.45am at Fairview Cemetery in Shillington. There will also be a 9:30 a.m. service in Grace’s Shrine with Communion and a brass ensemble. Masks are optional. Or worship online at graceshington.org.

• St. John’s Lutheran Church, 45 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown, will hold worship on Easter Sunday at 9:30 am Livestreamed worship continues on YouTube (St. John’s ELC Boyertown). Sunday school for children is at 9:30 a.m. — register at www.stjohnsboyertown.org. Free drive-thru, take-out meals every Saturday from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. No registration necessary.

• Schwarzwald Lutheran Church, 250 Church Lane Road, Exeter Township, will have two services on Easter Sunday, at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., both with Holy Communion. The registered services will be available the following day on Facebook.

• Bern Reformed United Church of Christ, 3196 Bernville Road, Bern Township, offers live worship on Easter Sunday at 9:30 am, or join in from your vehicle via FM 87.9 or Facebook.

• Zion and St. Paul’s United Church of Christ will worship together at 301 W. Penn Ave., Robesonia, on Easter Sunday beginning with a sunrise service outdoors at 6:15 a.m. and then entering the sanctuary . There will also be a service at 10:15 a.m. The choir of bells will ring out “Christ the Lord is risen” at the 10:15 a.m. service. The senior choir will sing an Easter hymn. • Reading Moravian Church will hold its Easter Dawn Service at North Heidelberg Church, 184 Old Church Road, North Heidelberg Township. The brass choir will begin playing at 5:30 a.m. There will also be a 10 a.m. service at Reading Moravian, 1116 Perry St., Reading, with a brass choir before the service begins. Masks and social distancing are recommended.

• Pennside Presbyterian Church, 253 N. 25th St., Mount Penn, will worship Easter Sunday at 10 a.m. Masks are optional. The service will also be streamed live on Facebook.

• St. Peter’s Becker’s Lutheran Church, 265 Maidencreek Road, Richmond Township, will worship on Easter Sunday at 9 am, with Holy Communion. Masks are optional.

• Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 102 Apple St., Leesport, will hold Easter Sunday worship at 9am, with Holy Communion. Masks are optional. At 10:30 a.m., in the outdoor play area, Easter egg hunts will be held for children 10 and under.

• St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 5 W. Arch St., Fleetwood, will hold three services on Easter Sunday: at 6 a.m. at the Union Cemetery or at the church in case of inclement weather ; in person and online at 9 a.m. and at the sanctuary at 10:30 a.m. Links to Facebook and YouTube can be found at www.stpaulsfleetwood.org. • There will be Easter Dawn Community Service Sunday at 6:45 a.m., with Communion, at Fairview Cemetery, 375 New Holland Ave., Shillington, hosted by Allegheny Lutheran, Grace Lutheran, Immanuel United Church of Christ, One United Church of Christ and St. John’s Lutheran. Bring a chair.

• Immanuel United Church of Christ, 99 S. Waverly St., Shillington, will hold Easter Sunday worship at 9 am with brass ensemble: John Stoudt, trumpet; Rob Kerchner, trumpet; Michael Fries, French horn; Brandon Buterbaugh, trombone; Sarah Nygard, trombone; and guest organist, Sandra Sittler. At 10:30 a.m. there will be a GODTIME service, an interactive family worship experience.

• Maidencreek Church, 261 Main St., Maidencreek Township, will host a hybrid worship service, in-person and live streamed on Facebook and YouTube, Easter Sunday at 9:00 a.m., with communion. Special music includes a selection from the Senior Choir, a flute solo by Karen Hess, a trumpet solo by Jamie Ayrton, a musical selection from Maidencreek Youth as well as two congregational hymns. • Kissinger Church, 715 Berkshire Blvd., Wyomissing, will hold an hour of prayer Wednesday from 4-5 p.m. The public is invited to attend to submit prayer requests and pray for others.
