Bangalore: a businessman threatens a friend with rape for asking to repay a bank loan; stopped

bangalore: In a shocking incident reported in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, a 25-year-old businessman threatened to rape his girlfriend when she asked him to repay bank debt. Following the threat, the accused was arrested and allegedly took out the loan in the woman’s name to buy an iPhone last year.

Meanwhile, following the threat, the 24-year-old woman approached the cops to file a complaint and the accused, identified as PV Nageshwar of Jnanabharathi was convicted under Sections 354A (sexual harassment), 504 ( intentional insult with ent to cause breach of peace), 506 (criminal intimidation), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 420 (deception) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Recounting the whole ordeal in front of the cops, the woman said she had known Nageshwar for five years. She went on to say that the defendant had promised her that he would find her a government job through his contacts. In exchange for a job, the accused asked a woman to lend him money to buy an iPhone. Unaware of his bad intentions, the woman accepted everything he said and she took out a personal loan of Rs 80,000 from the bank.

Meanwhile, Nageshwar agreed to pay monthly installments for 3 years for the iPhone. However, after purchasing the iPhone, the defendant failed to pay the installments to the victim. Meanwhile, bank officials began contacting the woman for repayment of the loan. The woman repeatedly reminded Nageshwar about the repayment of the loan, but to no avail. It was on January 19 that the woman again called the accused and he shockingly threatened to rape her, according to the report published in the India time.
